SSA Youth Matters, Comrade Iwaudofia


The Chairman of Ikono Local Government Council, Hon Itoro Columba, has commended the youths in the State under the leadership of Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matter, Comrade Aniefiok IwaUdofia for offering themselves to be won to God by Gov Udom Emmanuel in righteousness, morality and holiness.


The Ikono Council Boss made the remarks this Sunday during the combined ceremony of monthly Akwa Ibom Youth Prayer programme, which coincided with the  child dedication service of Little Master AbasiOno AbasiOno Okon,  son of Comrade AbasiOno Okon, who was an aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party during the just concluded House of Assembly primaries in Ikono.

The service which held at Royal City Central Chapel, Idak Aditan street by Ring Road,  Ikot Akpan Abia in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, had the  crème de la creme and movers and shakers of Akwa Ibom State  politics including the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Petroleum Resources, Rt. Hon. Ekong Sampson.

Addressing the Church during the service, Mr Columba applauded the youths of Akwa Ibom State for sustaining the monthly prayer programme which has gathered momentum over the years,  running into its 50th edition. He thanked the Governor for not only massively investing in youths of the state but using the instrument of the monthly prayer programme to draw them away from crime and criminality to God in righteousness.

"The deliberate measures put in place by our Leader the Governor to invest in empowering the youths spiritually and economically and the excellent way Comrade Iwaudofia has translated the Governor's dreams in that area are what have combined to account for the absolute peace that the State is currently enjoying", he said.

He prayed for God's blessings on little Abasiono, commended the promoters of the Church for the spiritual work it was doing  and donated in support of the Church project.

The Council Boss later proceeded to attend the 2019 harvest and thanksgiving service which is an annual programme of The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Christ The King Parish, held at 52 Enwe Street in Uyo at the instance of Dr Akan Akamkpo, a senior lecturer with the University of Uyo .

Tagged, "Harvest of Expectation", the event attracted many dignitaries from all walks of life including political office holders in the State. Columba who was the Chairman on the occasion, donated cash for the  Church growth to the glory of God.

Other highlights included the  harvest of fruits, presentation and blessing of harvested fruits, special prayers and songs rendition among others.
