The Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Aviation Development, Mr. Akan Okon has expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction work at the 21-storey smart building located along Udo Udoma Avenue.
He gave the indication yesterday during a routine inspection visit to the facility.
The building which is at its fourth floor stage upon completion will provide a hub for oil companies and other multinationals who in times past cited absence of a befitting accommodation as the reason for not domiciling their headquarters in the State.
The Commissioner lauded His Excellency the Governor for showing absolute commitment to the project in the midst of lean resources and assiduously working towards fulfilling his promise to Akwa Ibom people. He reiterated that the project would give the State a unique identity upon completion, bring development to the area and generate huge internally revenue for the State.
He commended the contractors for their zeal, work ethic and commitment to delivering the project in the shortest possible time. The Special Duties Boss was accompanied on the inspection visit by staff of the ministry.
