2019: ITU-IBIONO IBOM FED. CONSTITUENCY

... Rt. Hon. Ime Okon Adopted as sole candidate by delegates.



The forum of PDP ward youth leaders in Ibiono Ibom local government, unanimously and voluntarily adopted Obong Barr. Ime Okon as their sole candidate in the upcoming federal house of representatives primaries slated for September  2018.

Rising from their meeting on Monday 30th July 2018 at Ikot ambang ibiono, the coordinator of the forum Mr Joseph Peter (Youth leader ward 9)stated that the forum took the decision after diligently studying the political trajectory of Obong Ime Okon vis-a vis his effective representation at the Akwa Ibom state house of Assembly and his accessibility to all ibiono Ibom Sons and daughters.

The youth leaders took turns to eulogise Obong Ime Okon, and enumerated his life touching projects ranging from provision of infrastructure across Ibiono Ibom, and also investing a lot in human capital development.


In his response, the elated aspirant,Obong Barr. Ime Bassey Okon thanked the youth leaders for the gesture which he described as a pleasant surprise and the first of its kind since he started his consultations.

 He promised not to betray the confidence of the youth leaders when he finally gets the ticket of the party.

 The motion for the adoption of Obong Ime Bassey Okon was moved by Mr Inyeneobong Bassey (youth leader Ward 8) and seconded by Mr Elijah Bassey Udo (youth leader wd 10).

Present at the event were the Director general of Itu /Ibiono Ibom unity project (the official name of the campaign movement) Hon. Okon Okon Etim, the director of campaigns and vice chairman of ibiono ibom ,Rt. Hon Engr. Dominic Udoattan,Hon. Mandu Eduese(councillor ward 10 ibiono), Hon.Sunny Utuk ,Hon. Mfon Ekpenyong and the secretary of Itu ibiono Ibom unity project Hon.Bassey Bassey
