BREAKING: AKWA IBOM STATE GOVT. APPROVES EMPLOYMENT OF MEDICAL PERSONNEL

The State Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, has approved the employment of more Medical Personnel for the renovated and equipped health care facilities in the state to boost health care delivery in the state. The state Civil Service Commission is working out modalities for the recruitment exercise to commence soon.
The Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Ekerebong Akpan made this known at her ongoing interactive sessions with workers in the state held at the Civil Service Auditorium, Uyo, recently.
Mrs. Akpan reiterated government’s commitment to making affordable health care available to the people and stressed the need for people to always approach qualified medical personnel at the various rehabilitated health facilities across the state for their medical needs rather than resort to self medication and quacks.
The Head of Civil Service listed those to be enlisted to include Medical Officers, Nurses, Pharmacists, ophthalmologists, Medical Lab Scientists, Radiographers, and other allied staff. She said that so far, the Governor Udom-led administration has offered employment to over six thousand people and promoted over twenty thousand staff in the core Civil Service in addition to those in Extra-ministerial Departments and Agencies as well as the regular payment of salaries and Pensions and the ongoing efforts at clearing the backlog of gratuities. She charged the workers not to relent in their commitment to assigned duties to reciprocate Governor Udom’s workers friendly disposition.
In her opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Comfort Archibong, had appreciated the Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Ekerebong Akpan, for creating time to interface with workers and enjoined participants to be actively involved in the interaction.
Speaking on behalf of the workers, Mr. Ubong Ben Akpan, a teacher in the Special Education Centre, thanked Governor Udom for his recorded achievements in the state and favourable approach to workers welfare and assured of continuous cooperation and support of workers to enable the Governor achieve more for the workers and the state. Mr. Ubong Akpan also commended the Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Ekerebong Akpan, for the remarkable innovations in the service and for the mentoring and interactive sessions with workers and prayed for more grace and wisdom upon her.
