BUHARI, APC,INEC Plotting To Scuttle 2019 Polls, CUPP Alleges

President Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been accused of plotting to scuttle the 2019 general elections.
Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), which consists of about 38 political parties and associations, leveled the allegation against Buhari, his party and the electoral body, explaining that part of the plot is the President’s denial to sign the new Electoral Act Amendment Bill into law.
According to CUPP, Friday August 31, was the last working day within the 30-day constitutional period given to the President to sign the bill, and that rather than sign the bill, Buhari chose to “travel to China with a bloated entourage.”

The group stated this in a statement on Friday by its spokesman, Mr. Ikenga Ugochiyere, recalling how it had earlier alerted of President Buhari’s unwillingness to sign the amendment into law.
He further alleged that a leader of the ruling APC had met with Buhari after the party’s last Thursday’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, where they resolved not to sign the amendment bill.
The CUPP then said that Buhari and his party believe that signing the bill would lead to the defeat of the party in the September 22 governorship election in Osun State.
