An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Adamawa state, Mahmood Ahmed, has vowed to develop the human and material resources of the state to make the state another Lagos in economic terms if he emerges as governor.

Vanguard reports that the candidate, who is also an in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari, made his governorship intentions known at the state secretariat of APC in Yola, during his formal declaration on Monday, September 10.
The newspaper states that Ahmed’s aspiration is said to be causing anxiety in circles loyal to the incumbent, Governor Umaru Jibrilla, who fear that the Buhari factor might swing the votes for the aspirant.
Ahmed who is reported to be a younger brother to the president’s wife, said the present government and others before it had not done much to develop the human and material potentials of the state.
The roads the present state government is known for had been built by multinational companies that left Adamawa businessmen out of contention," he said.
“We will make this state greater. We will develop Adamawa through the provision of infrastructure and the development of human capital and natural resources."

He stated that the state was too endowed with necessary resources to lag behind in development indices.
Meanwhile, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has said he does not have up to N20min his bank account to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination form which costs N22.5m.
The governor made the statement on Monday, September 10, when some groups in Kaduna purchased the expression of interest and nomination form of the APC for the governor.
The Cable reports that among the groups are the Association of Cattle Sellers, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), NATO, and Sheikh Gumi Market Association.
