As preparations for landslide victory in the 2019 elections gear up, Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has put forward a formidable team, made up of its best candidates, for the 2019 general elections.
The team, which is led by Governor Udom Emmanuel, is made up of Bassey Albert (Uyo Senatorial District), Chris Ekpenyong (Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District), Akon Eyakenyi (Eket Senatorial District), Pat Ifon (Eket Federal Constituency), Onofiok Luke (Etinan Federal Constituency), Nse Ekpenyong (Oron Federal Constituency), Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo (Ikono/INI Federal Constituency), Unyime Idem (Ukanafun Federal Constituency), Aniekan Umanah (Abak Federal Constituency), Michael Enyong (Uyo Federal Constituency), Henry Archibong (Itu Federal Constituency), Nsikak Ekong (Ikot Ekpene Federal Constituency) and Francis Uduyok (Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency).
The party, though being supported by the people of the state and various groups within the party, is mobilising its members and supporters in the state to ensure its team hold the ground and win the race.
The leader of the team, Governor Udom Emmanuel, who thanked the Chairman of Gubernatorial Primary election in the state, Gov Peter Fayose of Ekiti State, for ensuring that free, fair and credible Primaries are conducted, expressed profound gratitude to delegates for their show of love,trust and confidence.
He maintained that their decisions to massively support him with their votes affirmed their earlier resolve to support good governance and promised to consolidate on the development thrust of his administration.
"Let me thank all of you for this show of love and confidence on me. For reelecting me today, you are proclaiming that the development of Akwa Ibom State is entrusted to the Peoples Democratic Party. And I stand here to promise that we will move Akwa Ibom State forward," he said.
The party hopes to win landslide in all the positions it has filed its candidates.
Stakeholders and the people of the state have considered members of the team as good candidates that are popular, credible and acceptable for the jobs based on their individual experience and support base.
One of the factors working in favour of members of the team is the goodwill they enjoy from the people.
The team has been certified to be the choice of the generality of Akwa Ibom people.
More members will be added to the team today to help pilot the affairs of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and take back democratic dividends to their respective constituencies.
