Convention: PDP Presidential aspirant allegedly woos delegates with $1,000 dollars

…As all PDP aspirants go into crucial meeting

At the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, convention ongoing at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, one of the 13 aspirants jostling for the party’s presidential ticket has, just before the voting commenced, reportedly begun wooing party delegates with $1,000 dollars.

A photo posted on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, shows, supposedly, a delegate brandishing a fat envelope with the dollars inside.

However, another party delegate, Demola Olarewaju, who equally took to the twitter to opine about money politics at the convention said, “What I’ve not seen much of nor heard is Cash – Naira or Dollars. Sam Hart saw me with envelopes holding tags and asked “Is that the dollars?” and we both laughed and wondered where the sharing is actually going on. Seems money is overrated/exaggerated at #PDPConventionPHC.”

Responding to another twitter user, said,“Haha, I guessed as much – PHC is waiting for the Kwankasiyya action. Hope you’re coming with the Dollars cos nobody is seeing it, only thing delegates here are saying is “Who can Beat Buhari??”
However, although accreditation of party delegates was reportedly ongoing as at the time of filing this report, and after which the number of accredited delegates will be announced before voting would commence, it was learnt that all the presidential aspirants have gone into crucial meeting, perhaps to persuade themselves on adopting a consensus candidate if need be.
