Yesterday, I had the singular honour of donating over 2,000 copies of customised exercises books to my former school, Government Primary School, Ifa Ikot Okpon in Uyo LGA. I also presented gift items, as motivation to some pupils who came out top in their last terminal examination.
During a brief presentation ceremony, I ceased the opportunity to charge the pupils on the need to remain studious, obedient and prayerful.
I reminded them of the huge investment of Governor Udom Emmanuel in the education sector and his desire to see them grow into responsible citizens.
Earlier, before proceeding to the school, I'd met with the Village Council of Ifa Ikot Okpon where I commended the Village Head, Chief Uwem Tom for maintaining peace in his domain.
It's my belief that the gesture will spur the pupils to study more, even as I wish them a beautiful future ahead.
