In an effort to enhance sustainable healthy living and conducive environment. The Chairman, Eket LGA /ALGON Chairman AKS, Mr. Frank Archibong today inaugurated the EKET-CLEAN AND GREEN INITIATIVE, an idea birthed by the supervisor for environment, Lady Esta Nta.
Hon Frank Archibong during his inaugural speech stated that the duty of keeping Eket clean and safe is everyone's responsibility for the overall benefits of Eket People.
He urged all Eketians to take cognisance of their immediate environment in order to keep it clean, safe and secured for a healthy living.
In her speech, Lady Esta Nta thanked the Eket council boss for keeping to his promise of giving Eket a new phase lift. Nta who said the determination and commitment of Frank Archibong in the course of providing an enabling environment where safety standard is given paramount concern for Eket people deserves commendation.
She stated that the conception for EKET- CLEAN AND GREEN INITIATIVE, is spurred by her ernest desire to identify health hazards and to promote health awareness on the importance of preserving the environment from future natural disaster always occasioned by non compliance to safety roles and standards.
She however, noted that health threats to both the environment and humans is alarmingly increasing over the years. Nta pointed that it is a collective responsibility for individuals to partner with government to ensure a cleaner and safer environment for Eket people.
While thanking the people of Eket for embracing the CLEAN AND GREEN INITIATIVE,she appealed to corporate organisations, individuals and agencies to support the sustainability of the initiative to enable sustainable healthy environment.
The inauguration had in attendance the executive chairman of Eket LGA, Hon. Frank Archibong, Vice Chairman of Council Mr. Nsikan John, councillors, supervisors and a host of others.
