Uyo Local Govt Council under the Championship of Elder ( Hon.) Imoh Okon in conjunction with Frankrose Foundation have empowered 210 youths in Uyo Local Govt Area through diverse training programs such as ICT, catering, detergent making, hair making, auto electrical, furniture making, shoe making, bead making, fashion & design etc.
This purposive act is part of the Mentorship / Skill Aquisition program that the Executive Chairman promised Uyo people during his electioneering campaigns. This is strategically done to tackle the rate of unemployment & meaningfully engage the youths for self sustainability in a State where the Governor, His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel has inspired the youths to rise to their faith of greatness.
The trainees who are drawn from 105 gazetted villages in Uyo are currently undergoing six months skill acquisition training. It is part of the deal to provide starter packs at the successful completion of the trainings.
When the Chairman of Uyo in company of his supervisors called at the training ground along Ibiono Street Off Ikot Abasi Street, the tainees were full of elation & passion.
