OPEN LETTER: ORO STAKEHOLDERS FORUM FOR
PRINCE ROBINSON EDUMOH
We as an organization working towards the successful election of President Muhamandu Buhari, Obong Nsima Ekere and Prince (Dr.) Robinson Edumoh, wishes to bring to the attention of the general public, our dismay and discontentment in the substitution of our principal’s name Prince (Dr.) Robinson Edumoh for Victor Antai, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for Oron Federal Constituency.
This perceived injustice meted on the generality of Oro youths and to us as major stakeholders in Prince Robinson Edumoh Forum, is an height of insensitivity capable of inciting conflict amongst groups, who may have made countless sacrifices to ensure that our party, the All Progressives Congress was fully entrenched in the heart of Oro Nation.
It should be noted that, our forum had exhausted all peaceful and workable measures to stop the grand injustice on Prince Robinson Edumoh this includes our principal, Robinson Edumoh meeting with His Excellency, Senator Godswill Akpabio and as well as Obong (Dr.) Nsima Ekere, obviously these meetings were inconclusive with no genuine outcome.
We note that when people don’t know the cause of a problem: solutions often become an illusion. So it is unthinkable for Victor Antai to stage manage himself as APC’s flagbearer for Oron Federal Constituency when it is known to all that he actually contested for senate position in Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District.
Our forum will not sit back at armed chair position to watch this unfair political treatment been meted on them. Our fight in 2015 to ensure that APC won the only State Constituency position being Urue-Offong/Oruko, in the entire state will not go unrewarded and unaccounted for.
To this end, we wish to state categorically that:
i. The supporters of Prince (Dr.) Robinson Edumoh will use any mean necessary to resist an attempt by anyone within or outside the party to parade or promote Victor Antai as Oron Federal Constituency candidate without due reconciliation with our group. Hence, we will truncate all party’s engagements in Oron Federal Constituency.
ii. Our forum demands a factual response and documented evidence by those concern to be made in favour of Dr. Robinson Edumoh’s stakeholders in respect of previous reconciliation meetings.
iii. We demand that Victor Antai name be expunged completely for Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) list as APC flagbearer for Oron Federal Constituency. And Dr. Robinson Edumoh’s name replaced as rightful candidate.
iv. Henceforth Victor Antai should end all form of comical “Thank You” tours to communities, else he should be ready for consequences.
v. We reiterate our position to lock down all mechanisms in Oron Federal Constituency and deal with anyone who may have played a leading role in promoting political injustice by way of foisting Victor Antai against our collective will as Oro Youths.
Apparently, we may not guarantee any elections in Urue Offong/Oruko, Okobo, Mbo, Udung Uko and Oron Local Government Areas.
