In 2000, Akwa Ibom Co-operatives Federation sent a memo to the Governor, Obong Victor Attah for the setting up of Palm oil processing depots.
Fast forward to 2017, Governor Udom Emmanuel approved that the Government of Akwa Ibom State enter into an aggreement with Nomo Energy & Marine Services Limited to revamp, upgrade and develop the Palm Oil Processing facility to include the production of Palm kernel oil.
The State Government equity share is 25% while the investor has 75%.
