Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has hinted that the 21 Storey Intelligent Building Project to accommodate International Oil Companies, IOCs, and other Multi-national Corporations operating on the shorelines of the state, will be ready for inauguration by the end of 2019.

Governor Emmanuel dropped the hint while speaking with journalists shortly after undertaking an inspection tour of the ongoing construction of the building at the Central Business District, off Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.

The Governor lamented that Akwa Ibom being one of the highest producers of crude oil in the country, could not boast of an office of any oil company operating on her shores and explained that the project, which is already on the 20th floor, was aimed at encouraging the relocation of their corporate offices, to the state.

He stated that on completion, the complex will rank as one of the top notch office buildings in the country, pointing out that all the necessary facilities ranging from Safety to Information and Communication Technology, ICT, are incorporated in the building.

Describing the project as a huge investment with expected returns for the state, Emmanuel implored the federal government  to impress on the multi-national companies to establish presence in their states of operations.

He expressed satisfaction at the pace and level of work done so far, commending the contracting firm for keeping to the expected standard and the State Ministry of Special Duties and Aviation Development for their supervisory role while thanking the host community for their cooperation which enables smooth and timely execution of the project.

The Akwa Ibom Chief  Executive Officer also stopped over to assess the level of ongoing work at the construction site   of the 8,500 capacity International  Christian Worship Center in the state.
