Pastor Ita Udoh; presiding pastor at Trinity Gospel Mission (TGM), earlier today inspected the grading of "Idung Usedem/Ring Road" in his community, Efoi village, Eket LGA.
The grading of "Idung Usedem/Ring Road" which have elated business operators and Efoi residents is a self intervention project finance by this clergyman whose love and passion for community development cannot be disputed.
Findings reveals that Efoi community has five villages among which two are gazzated. The only and the very first time Efoi community have had the opportunity of having their roads graded to enable access for both residents and vehicles was in 2012 as at the time Pst. Ita Udoh was commissioner for youth and sports.
Ita Udo is also a former commissioner of Culture and tourism and a one time governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in 2015.
One of the community leader, Elder Okon Akwaowo, who was on ground with other community members appreciated Pst. Ita Udoh for coming to their rescue. They described him as a "bridge builder and an asset to Eket people.
Idung Usedem/Ring road by estimation is approximately 1km. It links directly to Technical School, Efoi and terminate at Abu Idung Usedem stream which crisscrosses Ikot Okpudo in Nsit Ubium and Ikpa in Esit Eket LGA.
Reacting, the clergyman said " he was invited to a meeting on Friday at Efoi, on getting to Idung Usedem, he was unable to drive through due to the deplorable condition of the road. He explained that the road was so bad that it was not motorable even with a Hilux.
He appealed to the people to remain calm while assuring them that governor Udom Emmanuel who is a promise keeper will certainly see to the construction of major roads across Efoi community before tenure completion.
