A'IBOM: ESIT EKET PEOPLE REQUESTS FOR COMMISSIONER IN GOV UDOM EMMANUEL'S NEXT CABINET

As the entire Akwa Ibom people continue to bask in the euphoria of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s inauguration for second term as the Chief Executive Officer of the State, the people of Esit Eket local government area have joined in the celebration by congratulating the Governor on his successful inauguration. 


Esit Eket people, under the aegis of Esit Eket Frontline Development Forum, a non political group comprising of intellectual minds from all sectors of human endeavor at home and in the diaspora, described Governor Emmanuel's success in the 2019 Governorship election and subsequent inauguration as divine arrangement for the betterment of the people in particular, and the entire Akwa Ibom State in general. 

The message was contained a statement by the Welfare Committee Chairman of the non political group, Engr. OtoAbasi Ntiah during an interaction with journalists at the weekend in Eket. 

The welfare Chairman expressed optimism, on behalf of the group that the Governor would use the next four years of his administration to completely turn the entire State to industrial hub of the nation and in global perspective. 

Engr. Ntiah also used the medium to thank the Governor, whom he described as an illustrious and proud son of Ekid on his move to attract various areas of development to Esit Eket in his first term, and also pleaded with the State Chief Executive for continuation and completion of the projects such as the ongoing reactivation of Akwa Palm industry, as well as establishment of a well equipped ICT Centre, Modern Oil/Gas Training Center in the area and  provision for financial institutions (commercial banks) in the area, saying Esit Eket, as a development-friendly people has more than enough land mass and conducive environment for establishment of the institutions. 

While pledging its continuous support to the administration of Governor Emmanuel, the group, made up of numerous academic scholars, professional engineers, high profile entrepreneurs, and experts in various fields/sectors both at national and international level, also appealed to the Governor to include Esit Eket in his Executive cabinet this time by giving Commissioner appointment to at least an indigene of the area. 

Esit Eket Frontline Development Forum also urged the Governor to see the need for establishment of Akwa Ibom State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (AKOPADEC) before the expiration of his four years tenure, saying the Commission would be equipped with the responsibility of developing the core oil producing areas in the State. 

While appreciating the Governor for stretching forth his right hand of fellowship to all Akwa Ibom people irrespective of political affiliations to join him in building one Akwa Ibom, the group said such humble disposition exhibited by the Governor clearly defines his kind of leadership needed for the growth of the State and call on Akwa Ibom people to bury any form of political sentiment but join hands with the Governor to build a one indivisible and united Akwa Ibom State.
