GOV EMMANUEL CHARGES NEWLY INAUGURATED EXCO MEMBERS










Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has cautioned the newly sworn-in members of the state executive council  to accord honour and prestige to the "Honourable" attached to their names.


He said any act of misbehaviour by them would bring disrepute to the individual's Local Government area of origin.

Governor Emmanuel who said this in Uyo, Thursday shortly after the swearing in of 19 Commissioners, two Special Advisers and four Permanent Secretaries to join hands in steering the ship of his completion agenda, however described those who made the list of his appointees as tested and proven to be men and women of character, integrity, transparency, honesty and committed to "serve the Akwa Ibom enterprise".

The governor who declared that those appointed emerged strictly on merit, appointed to adhere to the wordings of the oath of office they took and to place the interest of the state ahead of personal interests.


His words "Permanent Secretaries were selected strictly on merit. It is a call to duty. If you can adhere to the wordings of the oath of office you took, then you would never have problem. 

“Don’t forget that your personal interest must not come first. Be a mentor. Your first loyalty is to the state. Discharge your duties exceptionally".


"For the Commissioners and Special Advisers, I want to say that these have been  tested and proven to be men and women of character, integrity, transparency, honesty and members of the "serve the Akwa Ibom enterprise.

Among the Commissioners sworn into office were, Mr Akan Okon, Arc. Ime Ekpo, Prof Nse Essien, Barr Uwemedimo Nwoko, Mr Monday Uko, Linus Nkan, Okpulupum Etteh, Ephraim Inyangeyen, Ekong Sampson, Charles Udoh, Orman Esin, Iniobong Essien, Dominic Ukpong and Dr. Gloria Edet. Others are Udo Ekpenyong, Ukpong Akpabio, Uno Etim Uno, Raphael Bassey and Victor Bassey.
Two nominees, Sunny Ibuot and Ekemini Umoh were also sworn in as Special Advisers, while Barr Janet Daniel, Grace Aniefiok Udoinyang, Ekaete Iniobong  Ekanem and Dr Patrick Anietie Essien were sworn in as Permanent Secretaries.
