The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Registers as Corporate Member of Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers (NISafetyE)

At the Inauguration of  Rivers State Chapter of NISafetyE and Investiture of Chairman , induction of members, on Saturday 3/08/2019 at the Royal Banquet Hall of Presidential Hotel Port Harcourt , the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)  Rt.Hon (Dr)  Dakuku Peterside announced the registration of NIMASA as a Corporate member of NISafetyE . The NIMASA Boss called on  government, corporate organizations and other professional institutions to collaborate with NISafetyE in other to guarantee industrial and Public safety.



The newly inducted Chairman Engr (Chief)  Dagogo Stowe maintained that safety both on air, land and the sea is paramount in every day's life and that NISafetyE in Rivers State is set to partner government,individuals and other professional bodies to build a Culture of Safety in Rivers State. 

The NIMASA boss who commended the sterling leadership of NISafetyE noted that the newly inaugurated  branch Chairman is a man of integrity. 

"He is a man who will be committed to service delivery in tandem with professional safety practice; he is a man who is ready to sacrifrice for the success of NISafetyE without bias" Dakuku submitted.

The DG of NIMASA, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) (Ama-Opusenibo) Dakuku Peterside, who expressed satisfaction over NIMASA registration with NISafetyE as a Corporate member emphasized that Safety is the bedrock of the Marine Industry. 

He went on and  assured the leadership and members of NISafetyE of NIMASA's continued support and partnership in creating safety awareness and enlightenment across the State and Nation.

The National Vice Chairman of NISafetyE and Pioneer Chairman Akwa Ibom State Chapter Engr Akaninyene Ekong a Fellow of the Institution while making his presentation thanked the NIMASA Boss and highlighted the contributions of NISafetyE to promoting best global Safety practices at the National and State level.  

Engr Akaninyene Ekong sited the partnership of NISafetyE and the Lagos State Safety Commission on the LPG plants explosion in Magodo Lagos,  the Petroleum Tanker Safety Workshop  which held during the National Conference in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State Capital in November 2018 .


This workshop was in Partnership with Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON)  Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation ,Lagos State Safety Commission and others. 
The National Vice Chairman intimated the Engineers and guests at the event on the Industrial Safety trainings organized by the Institution and that the bill to establish the Akwa Ibom State Safety Commission as proposed by Rt.Hon.Usoro Akpanusoh member representing Esit-Eket/Ibeno State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House Assembly has gone through the second reading  supported by the Speaker Rt. Hon.Aniekan Bassey, Rt.Hon.David Lawrence, Chairman House Committee on Works, Rt.Hon.Anietie Eka ,Chairman House Committee on NDDC ,Rt.Hon. Dennis Akpan the Spokes person of the House and other legislators in the AKHA. 
Engr Akaninyene Ekong highlighted the many benefits of the bill to the State and urged the Executive Governor H.E Udom Emmanuel to give his assent for the establishment of the Akwa Ibom State Safety Commission.
