We're set to establish Aviation School in A'Ibom -Gov Udom Emmanuel

Plans are on top gear to establish aviation school in Akwa Ibom state. This was the position of the Akwa Ibom state governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, when he met with Journalists, Tuesday, in government house, Uyo, the state capital.



The governor who said, the school, when established will avail people the opportunity to be trained on the operations in aviation sector added that, the set up of the training school would serve as a source of revenue generation to the state.

The visibly elated governor said, when the idea of Ibom Air came to the fore, many of his critics didn't believe the vision will come to materialization, pointing out that the coming of Ibom Air has added credence to his achievements and also made it easy for people travelling into the state from Abuja and Lagos.

"On aviation development, we have made a remarkable impact. When we started Ibom Air, a lot of people did not know . Let me give you a very simple business senerio. Our civility can turn things around. Today, in this country, the easiest state to visit when you are in Abuja or Lagos is  Akwa Ibom because you will have option."

He maintained that, the state is poised to set up the aviation school and also build its economy in order to keep attracting investors to the state. He noted that when the school is on, the trainees will lodge in hotels in the state while undergoing the training which in turn, would generate income to owners of those hotels.

Governor Emmanuel used the medium to call on media practitioners in the state to partner the state government in its completion agenda to actualise the much needed development in the state.

Responding, the chairman of the Nigeria Union of journalists, Akwa Ibom state Council, Comrade Amos Etuk   commended the governor for his support to the union.
He expressed the  believe that with the governor, the state is in safe hands and also assured him of the union's readiness to partner him in his completion agenda.

Part of the NUJ boss speech reads: "I want to assure you sir, that today, we begin the new narrative in writing the story that will path the success of your completion  agenda." We have not just come here to see the king and go empty handed; and so, as a body, we come with our myriad of challenges to present to you as our king and our father.
First, we solicit your support in the completion of ongoing projects in the state Council."

The union, through its chairman, also used the occasion to solicit the support of the state governor for the provision of work tools to members for effective discharge of their duties, buses to chapels among other demands.
