The above Biblical reference genuinely personifies the person of Barr. Otobong Effiong Bob, member representing Nsit Ubium State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. Ever since Barr. Bob took his place as one of the members of the 8th Assembly; he has been burning more brightly with leadership skills and desire in the discharge of his legislative responsibilities.
Albeit, the span of the current state Assembly is still young for one to judge and determine the performance of its members, but Barr. Otobong Effiong Bob has started acquitting and asserting himself by churning out decent and far-reaching policies with a view to turning around the fortune of his constituents.
Barr. Otobong Bob’s political odyssey has begun in a spatial and evaluative dimension where the pulse of the people is deeply considered and felt no matter the gap of relationsup.
A quick reflection of Barr. Otobong Bob’s score card in the State House of Assembly reveals that the state lawmaker who is on the mandate of the people of Nsit Ubium State Constituency sponsored the establishment of Akwa Ibom Security Trust Fund Bill. He highlighted the many benefits Akwa Ibom State stand to gain when the said Bill is passed into law.
In his words: “The Bill will provide adequate funding for the procurement and maintenance of petrol vehicles, armored personal carriers and other security equipments to security agencies operating within the state.”
Mr. Otobong Bob has lent a strong voice to the growing agitation for the employment of Akwa Ibom indigenes by Companies operating within the shores of Akwa Ibom State.
In his avowed resolve to change the complexion of representation of the people of Nsit Ubium State Constituency, Barr. Otobong Bob has practically elevated the quality of political leadership by showing more than passive interest in the wellbeing of his constituents. To him, mankind is his love, and to do good to mankind is his constituency. Barr. Bob has simply and genuinely brought governance spiced with quality representation down to the people of Nsit Ubium State Constituency. This is evidenced in his bond with his people .
He attends activities, functions and occasions of his constituents without any prejudice. He relates with his people freely without any reservations, not minding their social stratum.
On November 30th, 2019 he was among other notable personalities who graced the traditional marriage between Prince Emmanuel Akaiso and Hon. Blessing Robert in Use Ikot Amana, Ibiono Ibom LGA, Akwa Ibom State. He also attended the solemnization of marriage between Mr. Ime Silas Akpan and his dear wife Mrs Elizabeth Etete at the Apostolic church Erin Okon usanga district headquarters Uyo Akwa Ibom State.
On December 1st, he first attended the wedding ceremony of Mr Joseph Udo keirian and Mary Edet at Methodist church, Nigeria, Ikot Ebido Oku Uyo. Joseph Udo Keirian is the first son of Rt. Hon. Sir. Udo Kierian Akpan, Member Representing Oruk Anam State Constituency and Leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. He also attended the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs Godwin Okon which also had the chairman comfort 95.1 FM, Distinguished Senator Effiong Dickson Bob and other notable personalities in the state in attendance to grace the event.
He also identified with wives of Monarchs in his Constituency when he graced the event of the Forum of Village Heads' wives in Nsit Ubium LGA, being an event designed to better the humanitarian existence of the less privileged, at the Palace of the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.
Barr. Otobong Effiong Bob is young, dynamic and cerebral with undoubted tenacity, ability and zeal to impact positively on the lives of his people.
