COVID-19: FRANK ARCHIBONG ADVISES CHURCH LEADERS TO MAINTAIN SAFETY GUIDELINES

The Executive Chairman of Eket LGC. Mr. Frank Archibong, has called on Church leaders across Eket Senatorial District to give strict adherence to Covid-19 Safety guidelines or forget about conducting Church service.


The Council boss advised church leaders to be proactive by maintaining Medical precautionary measures in order to win in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.

Frank Archibong, who is the Chairman of AKSG COVID-19 Church Monitoring Team for  Eket Senatorial District, gave the advise Today,  Sunday 19, July 2020,  in Eket during the teams routine inspection to Churches in the Senatorial District  to monitor level of compliance.

He said for us as a people not to be infected with the virus, adequate Safety protocols must be maintained during and after church service.

He admonished worshipers and church leaders at various Church visited not to ignore any of the safety guidelines mostly now that the raining season has come.

He reminded that the safety guidelines was necessary for the re-opening of religious gatherings in the State, urging congregants  to be observerance by making use of their Face Masks at public places, frequent washing of hands with liquid Soap and application of alcoholic based hand sanitizer.

The ESD Covid-19 Church Monitoring Team, however expressed satisfaction over the level of compliance by some Churches across the three Federal Constituency in Eket Senatorial District. He admitted that his team have recorded significant improvement.

The Akwa Ibom State Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bishop (Dr.) Emmanuel Ebitu, Security Agencies, Supervisor for Works, Eket Legisative Council, Supervisor for Health, Lady Charity Ikott, SA to the Chairman on Documentation and Research, Mr. Tommy Enodien, SA on Media and Publicity, Mr. Mfon Bassey, SA to the Governor on Talent Hunts, Mr. Emmanuel Owuola are among those who joined in the monitoring exercise.

The team visited over sixty churches.
