FRANK ARCHIBONG'S APPOINTMENT IS A BLESSING TO US - EKET STAKEHOLDERS TO GOV UDOM EMMANUEL

The appointment of Frank Archibong, by Governor Udom Emmanuel, into the State Executive Council has been described as a double blessing to the entire Eket nation and Akwa Ibom State at large.



The Stakeholders of Eket in their goodwill message stated this on Monday,  3rd August  2020, during a reception ceremony held at Kells and Pals Event Centre, along Eket/Ibeno road, in honour of the newly appointed Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.


Speaking at the reception venue, a former Federal lawmaker and one time Minister of the federal republic, Chief Nduese Essien, commended Governor Udom Emmanuel on his numerous achievements and determination to industrialize the State,  stating that Eket is proud of having Frank Archibong, as a serving Commissioner in the governor's cabinet.  


Chief Nduese, who is the political leader of Eket Senatorial District, called on the people of Eket to do away with politics of bitterness for greater Eket to be achieved. 


The member representing Eket State Constituency, Rt. Hon. David Lawrence, said the people of Eket are not surprised at Frank's appointment as a Commissioner. The five star lawmaker noted that there have been relative peace in Eket because of the cordial relationship existing between the Commissioner and the people irrespective of class and party lines.

"Eket is lucky to have someone who can be rated high in any task given him. Frank, has done well for Eket people in terms of human development and he values relationship" David Lawrence stated. 



A former Senator and one time Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. (Mrs.) Helen Esuene, while expressing her Joy over the appointment of their son, said the people of Eket knows Mr. Archibong, is capable and worthy of his appointment. Senator Esuene, who was prophetic in her submission, declared that the appointment of Frank Archibong, into the State Executive Council is the beginning of greater glory awaiting manifestation in the land of Eket and the State.


Speaking on behalf of the umbrella party, Obongiwaad Emma Mbong, who is the Eket PDP chapter Charman, said he is optimistic that the party in Eket will be stronger and more united than it has always been because of the appointment of Frank as Commissioner and Barr. Akpadiaha Ebitu, serving as the State Legal Adviser of the umbrella party.


In an eulogized goodwill message, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Barr. Prince Ukpong Akpabio, referred to Mr. Archibong, as a man of impeccable characteristics and a leading light, stressing that every emerging leader should endeavour to emulate him. 



Others who spoke include; various stakeholders including; Acting Chairman of Eket, Mr. Nsikan John, immediate past commissioner for health who currently is the Honourary Special Adviser to the Governor on health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, SA to the Governor on Marketing and Management, Mr. Ime Uwah, Abak LGC Chairman, Barr. Imoh Williams, Leader, Eket Legisative Council, Hon. Kufre Ime Ekpo, described Frank's appointment as a positive and best for the people. 


The acting Chairman, Mr. Nsikak John, who said his heart was red, thanked God for using the appointment to turn things around in his favour. He described his former boss as a trustworthy, credible and capable leader.


The Commissioner, in his remarks, thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel, for finding him worthy to be a member of his cabinet. He said the Governor's love for the people of Eket and sincerity to develop Akwa Ibom State as encapsulated in his completion agenda is a sure bet.

He appreciated the people of Eket for their constant support and love. He further appealed to them to conduct themselves in a united and peaceful manner, while urging them to refrain from politics of hatred, campaign of calumny and pulling and bringing people down. 


"For development to strive, we must embrace and ecourage peaceful coexistence; our unity is our strength and we should not mortgaged our conscience because of politics if we must succeed". Frank advised.
