YOU ARE OUR HERO !
I am pretty excited about today, being World Entrepreneurs’ Day. A day set aside to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership throughout the world.
Sadly, today, the world is currently shaking, the COVID - 19 Pandemic has created a lot of challenges that has evoked concerns and fears about job security and our economy.
Part of why this day is so close to my heart is because today is a perfect day to celebrate people who have toiled day and night to create products and offer services that can solve our daily needs.
So to all entrepreneurs, small business owners, innovators, etc, you are our hero, we celebrate you today and always.
Our history is tied with the journey of great men and women who work hard day and night to train us in order to contribute meaningfully to the growth of our society.
For me, being raised by parents who believed that the only way to grow was inspiring those around us with our intelligence , kindness and creativity, entrepreneurship has since become a way of life.
So my parents would always tell us to create or find solutions to challenges we encounter, this mentality has shaped up the most of who I am today and I’m grateful.
Our beloved State, Akwa Ibom State has been an incubator for innovations and entrepreneurship over the years, His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel has beamed light and ignited the spirit of enterprising, while creating the environment for entrepreneurs to thrive.
Interpreting the theme for the celebration this year; 'Innovation & Creativity' , It will interest you to know that to mark the World Entrepreneurs' Day in Akwa Ibom State, we engaged Tourism Entrepreneurs as a cluster, we paid a visit to the Craft Village at Ikot Ekpene in view of working ways to scale up tourism-art related enterprises. We have also engaged interns on mentorship and how internship enables aspiring intrapreneurs to gain valuable experience. Not leaving out agropreneurs in Akwa Ibom who are currently exploring new ways that will yield great returns in precision farming in Africa and investments in agriculture by building and deploying aerial robotics and sensor drones to assess Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) which interprets farm data.
Thus, this Virtual Conference is hosted to crown the day and I hope you take good advantage of it.
Our economy and future depends on many factors, but mostly on the ability of entrepreneurs and innovators to develop ideas and ensure right practices that can transform our lives and economy. So as a people we must ask ourselves how we can continue to produce future innovators and entrepreneurs.
