With the acknowledged role of the Government Printing Press in the information sector of the state, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong has undertaken a familiarization tour of the facility.

The visit which was to afford the Information Boss an opportunity to undertake an on-the-spot assessment of the Printing Press, is part of the avowed determination of Comrade Ini Ememobong to reposition the Information sector for maximum performance and productivity.

While being conducted round the facility, the State Spokesman, expressed dismay at the delapilated structure and obsolete unserviceable machines littered round the premises and pledged to facilitate the process geared towards the procurement of modern machines for the government printing press.

Recalling the past glories of the Government Printing Press which was responsible for the production of all official documents of Government including: gazettes, receipts, publications of all sorts then, Comrade Ini Ememobong said, much of the printing challenges would be reduced if the Printing Press were in good shape and operational.

He implored the head of the Printing Press, Mr Nsikak Nkanga to document the state of the Press for review while looking out for different models of printing machines for necessary consideration and recommendation to  government for action.

The Head of the Printing Press, Mr. Nsikak Nkanga who received and conducted the State Information helmsman round the Printing Press intimated that, the Government Printing Press has been moribund for years now and requested government intervention in view of the benefits and valuable contributions of a functional press to the  the Information sector of the state.
