NASS RESUMES: ONOFIOK LUKE PRESENTS FOUR BILLS FOR FIRST READING

As the National Assembly resumes today after the annual recess, the Member representing Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency, Mr Onofiok Luke has submitted four Bills to the House of Representatives for consideration and it passed first reading. 


The Bill, Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria( Alteration) Bill, 2020 (HB1056) seeks to set time within which civil and criminal cases and matters are heard and determined at trial and appellate courts in order to eliminate unnecessary delay in justice administration and delivery.


The second Bill, Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria(Alteration) Bill, 2020(Hb.1055) seeks to increase the retirement ages of Judicial officers. The Other Bills are Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (Establishment) Act(Amendment)Bill, 2020(HB.1053) and Trafficking in Person(Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration(Amendment)Bill, 2020(HB.1054).


The House adjourned plenary for Wednesday,  30 September 2020.
