AKWA IBOM ENGINEER MAKES HISTORY AS NIGERIA'S YOUNGEST ENGINEERING FELLOW AT 31

… Lauds Udom Inoyo, Others for Mentorship

The 17th Fellowship Conferment Ceremony of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) ended few days ago in Abuja, with an Akwa Ibom-born oil and gas operations engineer making history as Nigeria’s youngest ever Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE).

He is Engr. Wisdom Patrick Enang, Ph.D, a native of Ikot Idem in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Engr. Wisdom Enang was among the 66 members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers recently inducted in Abuja into the prestigious NSE Fellowship hall of fame.

Administering the conferment on the 66 engineering professionals, the President of NSE, Engr. Babagana Mohammed (FNSE) celebrated the contributions of the conferees to the engineering profession in Nigeria and noted that the awards came in recognition of such outstanding contributions of theirs.

According to NSE’s citation on the conferees, Engr. Enang’s fellowship conferment was more about exceptional records than length of service.

Wisdom, few years ago, was the Senior Prefect of Topfaith International School, Mkpatak where he completed his secondary school education before enrolling at Cambridge Seminar Tutorial College, UK, where he graduated as the best academic student of the program. He obtained his Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath in UK, before proceeding for a Ph.D in the same university, a programme he completed in brilliant colours at the age of 26.

Dr. Wisdom Enang who has been a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, UK is a practising oil and gas operations engineering consultant currently in charge of 24 shallow water oil and gas assets in Nigeria.

In his remarks, Dr. Enang described his latest feat as a beacon of hope to the Akwa Ibom youth and thanked God for the successes recorded so far in his career. He particularly applauded his mentor and immediate past Vice Chairman of ExxonMobil Subsidiary Companies in Nigeria, Mr. Udom Inoyo, for always remaining a fountain of inspiration to him and lots of other Akwa Ibom youths in their various areas of calling.

Mr. Udom Inoyo, in a congratulatory message earlier issued to celebrate Wisdom, revealed that he was not surprised at the latest feat of the Akwa Ibom brilliant chap, having known his contributions and character traits over the years. He said he was proud of him, not only as an Akwa Ibom son, but also as one of his mentees who exemplifies the time-tested values of excellence, integrity, discipline and hard-work.
