As part of events building up to the passing out/certification ceremony of the 4th batch of the My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme (MEGP), a business pitch competition tagged MEGP PITCH DECK has been put together to give Alumni of the programme opportunities to pitch their businesses to investors for a chance to win business grants and open up their enterprises for partnerships and angel investor collaborations. The pitch deck, which is in its second season, will see winners in the early start up and existing business categories win over one million naira in business grants.In preparation for the pitch deck, contestants gathered today at the Dakkada Enterprise Development Center, Uyo for Orientation and trainings. Speaking at the event, the Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Entrepreneurial Development, Mrs Meflyn Anwana said the pitch deck was put together to expose young Akwa Ibom business owners to standard pitch experiences, while also creating an opportunity for angel investors to see areas of investments and partnerships. Anwana urged the Entrepreneurs to take the pitch trainings seriously as the lessons could come in handy when they apply for other major pitch events. Speaking further, the governor's aide told the contestants that the benefits of effective brand communication cannot be overemphasized.

In an interaction with newsmen, the resource persons said that Entrepreneurs in the state have been positively influenced by Governor Udom Emmanuel's Dakkada philosophy, and commended the governor for creating an enabling environment for Entrepreneurship to thrive in the state.
