The wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Her Excellency Dr. Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel has commissioned a Borehole Water Project at Ikot Nyohoedoh in Nsit Atai.
The project was initiated and completed by Rt Hon. Emem Ibanga, Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event on Friday, the Governor's wife who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Ini Adiakpan, said that it is the duty of the local government which is at the grassroots to get to know the needs of the people and as such she commended Honourable Emem Ibanga for taking time to identify the needs of the community and also providing it.
Dr. Emmanuel admonished the citizens of the community to handle the new amenity with care to ensure its durability.
Speaking in her capacity as the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Ini Adiakpan appreciated the Governor of the State, His Excellency Udom Emmanuel and his dear wife Dr. Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel for supporting the chairman and bringing her on board in his administration.
She stated that the Chairman, Emem Ibanga is following the footsteps of Her Excellency, by touching lives.
Her Excellency which has used her Pet project FEYReP to touch the lives of the vulnerable women and children, people in disabilities and the widows in the state.
Also speaking was the Chairman of the Local Government Emem Ibanga, She thanked God for the successful completion of the project.
While appreciating His/Her Excellencies for their immense support towards the project, She also appreciated the community for co-operating with her to mount the project.
In attendance was the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Atai, Edidem Peter Okon, Vice Chairman, Rt. Hon Idorenyin Inyang, ward Supervisory Councillor, Comfort Okon amongst others.
