The 21 teachers and one principal whose names will on Friday, November 5, 2021 be etched on the 2021 teaching hall of fame, emerged after a rigorous, strictly merit-based, selection process where over 200 public secondary school teachers in Akwa Ibom State participated. It could be recalled that this year’s selection exercise witnessed the Foundation’s first transition from Paper-Based Test (PBT) to Computer-Based Test (CBT), with the adoption of ITF Online Exams, a customized, high-utility software solution locally developed by the University of Uyo’s International Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Research (ICEESR).

The 2021 teaching excellence awards ceremony will be the 14th edition since the inception of the annual ceremony that seeks to promote quality education through recognition and rewards for secondary school teachers, mentorship for students and facility intervention support for public secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State.

In the last fourteen years, Inoyo Toro Foundation has remained consistent in the development of capacities in Akwa Ibom State, with beneficiaries cutting across various persons and spheres including teachers, students, schools, libraries, laboratories, lawyers, journalists, medical workers, techies, film makers, writers, actors and actresses, entrepreneurs, youths and women across various Akwa Ibom communities.
