FORMER EKET LAWMAKER DRUMS SUPPORT FOR UDOM EMMANUEL, UMO ENO.

By: Bubbles

A former member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly who represented Eket State Constituency, Hon. Ayang Akanimo Ayang, has called on Peculiar Women of Eket local government area to rally support for the People's Democratic party (PDP) Governorship candidate, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno and all PDP candidates in the 2023 elections.

Hon. Ayang who was a special guest during the Peculiar women's 2022  monthly meeting in Eket Urban 3 (formally Urban 4) assured them of sustainable peace, development and security of the State should Pst. Umo Bassey Eno is enthroned as the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Ayang, an outstanding stakeholder whose landmark achievements are hitherto significant, extended his heart of benevolence to the Women by granting their request in accordance to their expectations. He preached the message of oneness and unity of PDP assuring them of a better future, while advising the women against indulging in "EbreOwoism", a scheme used by political jobbers to lure the women against giving their support to PDP candidates in the forthcoming general elections.

In his usual sense of humour, he said in Ekid dialect. "Kuka Apostolic church m'me Sunday anim sia ade ekód unak enak, Sunday awen afe adagha Mount Zion sia ade ekód akam adibong, Sunday uwen afe aka Salvation Army m'me ntagh ufid aband". This simply means that the women shouldn't be attending different churches because of either church A can pray or dance, while others can play musical instruments.

"For the task ahead, remain focused,  remain with PDP and support only PDP candidates in the upcoming general elections". Hon. Ayang stated.

The women leader, lady Glory Ayang, was full of praises to the leader for his love for the women group and the Party. He is a man with an impeccable character, He never quits the Party even when he lost his second term bid to return to the House of Assembly".

Secretary of Perculiar women group, Lady Jenny Eshiet, in her goodwill message, said that the women will not shift in their support for Pastor Umo Eno as the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate. She equally thanked Hon. Ayang for his usual support for the women in the Ward.

Food items, refreshment and cash donation were offered the women by the former House of Assembly Member, who was accompanied by Eket Council Supervisor for Works/Dean of Supervisors, Hon. Imoh Ebitu .

In appreciation, the women offered praises and prayers for the Political leader and his family, praying God for His mercies upon them and Divine protection.
