Encomiums have continued to pour in for Governor Udom Emmanuel's human capacity development drive. The latest in the series of commendations came in, Monday afternoon from the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and tourism in Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon. Orman Esin.
Speaking further, Esin, who was Special Guest at the event, also commended beneficiaries of the training for their interest in self development and always making themselves available for impactful knowledge. He charged them to ensure that the knowledge acquired during the programme is put to practice in their different fields of endeavours for their personal benefits and that of the society at large.
The Honourable Commissioner further noted that over the years, the creative community in the country have developed an apathy for electoral processes but often turned around to complain about incompetent leadership after the elections. The culture and tourism commissioner wondered why the "intelligent and exposed" left a task as serious as leadership selection in the hands of a few persons. Esin urged the entrepreneurs in Akwa Ibom State to not just be involved in the 2023 elections but to also rally around one of their own, a practicing entrepreneur and gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Pastor Umo Eno, to ensure the sustainability of programmes such as the Dakkada Digital Skills Training.
Also speaking at the event, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Ime Uwah commended the beneficiaries for their maturity and positive conduct and responses during the training.
According to Uwah, the emergence of Governor Udom Emmanuel as a Governor of Akwa Ibom State is a blessing that has transformed the once dependent youths of the State to masters and independent Entrepreneurs.
He thanked Governor Emmanuel for his effort in human capital development, noting that beneficiaries of the numerous human capacity development programmes of the Udom Emmanuel administration have the responsibility of ensuring that the vision is sustained by supporting an enterprise driven leader as a Governor in Akwa Ibom State in the upcoming coming 2023 general Elections.
In a welcome remark, the Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Entrepreneurial Development, Mrs. Meflyn Anwana explained that the Dakkada digital Skill training is a clear prove of Governor Emmanuel's pragmatic zeal on driving human capital development across different aspects of industries in his administration.
According to Anwana, the Governor's interest which is beyond mere support for the digital training skill has more other significant targeted economic returns which the State through such training must explore in other to proffer digital solutions to challenges in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, thereby providing job opportunities to Akwa Ibom people.
Goodwill messages were received at the event from representatives of the commissioners for education and information in the state, Group Head, Marketing and Communications, Ibom Air - Mrs Annie Essienette, CEO of Mileni Creations, Mrs Mae Edmund Uffang, Faculty members as well as development partners.
High point of the event was the presentation of certificates and 40 laptops to participants. It was also announced that participants who studied photography and cinematography would receive cameras upon completion of their internship training which commences immediately.
The Dakkada Digital Skills Training, was put together as an upgrade programme for Digital Entrepreneurs who had been previously trained in the My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme (MEGP). The training also had as areas of Focus: Web Development, Graphics Design, Story Telling, Social Media Marketing Photography and Videography.
