Halilu: Rep lauds Tinubu on youth inclusion in govt

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been lauded for the appointment of 32 – year old Khalil Suleiman Halilu as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).

Chairman, House Committee on Youth Development, Martins Esin noted that Halilu’s appointment as well as others indicated that Tinubu has given youths ample opportunities in his administration.

In a statement at the weekend, Esin, who represents Oron federal constituency of Akwa Ibom state, said the youths of the country have never had so good.

“Just a few weeks ago on the heels of the appointment of Ministers, I commended the significant representation of the youth in the Federal Executive Council. Although we understandably appealed for the appointment of more youth into government.

“The appointment of Khalil is a further testament to the President’s commitment towards youth inclusion in government. It’s really heartwarming and worth commending,” he noted.

Esin, who himself is a 37-year-old federal legislator and successful businessman noted that the spectacular thing about President Tinubu’s policy of youth inclusion, is his conscious efforts to select youth with excellent academic records, sound public image and successful careers, noting that it’s not the usual practice of political patronage and social rehabilitation at the expense of merit.

“By their trainings, educational qualifications, character and personal accomplishments, these youth will easily grow into national leadership. This is a good development, which should be promoted as a national culture.”
