Mfon Michael Akpan Akpabio was born in 1969 in Port Harcourt in Rivers State to Late Nsobom Michael Akpan Akpabio Nkanga and his wife Obonganwan Nancy Akpabio, nee Abasi-Attai.
Mfon was an outstanding student in the Command Primary and Secondary Schools in Kaduna owned by the Nigerian Army, which he attended and where he bagged several prizes for academic excellence. He proceeded to the University of Jos in 1984 where he obtained a Masters Degree in Architecture, and later to the University of East London for a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Management.
After completing his N.Y.S.C. stint in Abuja, Akpabio proceeded to practice his first love, the design and construction of buildings and other physical infrastructure. He has executed several kinds of projects in his industry across the country for individuals, organisations and government over time, some commissioned by former President Obasanjo and other distinguished personalities.
Mfon Akpabio hails from Afaha Ikot Idem Udo in Awa Ward 2, Awa-Afaha Clan in Onna LGA of Akwa Ibom State. He is a proud card-carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which he has served in several capacities, including on national committees and as Consultant to the South-South Parliamentary Caucus between 2009 and 2012. He has also made consistent but silent contributions to the welfare and development of his community in the tradition set by his late Father.
Mfon is blessed with a beautiful wife and three children. He is articulate, accessible, selfless and youth-friendly.
Mfon Akpabio now offers to contribute to the improvement of his Eket Federal Constituency comprised of Eket, Esit-Eket, Ibeno and Onna by providing EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION in the House of Representatives between 2019 and 2023.
