The member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency in Akwa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh has charged students and traders to support the re-election of Governor Udom Emmanuel as he is the right man to govern the state.
The lawmaker gave the charge yesterday while playing host to students under the aegis of National Association of Esit Eket Students (NAEES), worldwide; National Association of Esit Eket Students, Afaha Nsit chapter and Eket Senatorial District Traders Forum at the Assembly Complex.
He said; “You will agree with me that when it comes to peace, safety of property and security, the governor has done well in just 4 years and that is to tell you that he will do more in years to come.
“There is also reduction of crime rate in Akwa Ibom State because we no more hear of kidnapping or any form of criminal vices because Governor Udom Emmanuel has taken it upon himself in making sure that the safety of his citizenry is guaranteed.
It is on this note that we all must support Governor Udom Emmanuel for us as a citizens to continue enjoying this peace and security so that in years to come we can look back and say to ourselves that we made a right choice in re-electing Governor Udom into office.”
On his part, the president, National Association of Esit-Eket Students (NAEES), Sen. Ifiok Ussoh, in his address, noted that Rt. Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh has not only represented them effectively in the hallowed chamber but as gone as far making sure that his people feel the dividends of his representation through his numerous constituency/empowerment programmes.
“Sir, this has proven that you are not just in the sixth Assembly to represent us in the hallowed chamber but rather you have made yourself accessible to the people and this gives us a great sense of belonging and confident to give you our mandate again”.
The students also used the opportunity to congratulate the lawmaker for emerging as the PDP flag bearer for Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency.
Comrade Uwem Etim, the President College of Education, Afaha Nsit Chapter, also thanked the lawmaker for always giving the students community a shoulder to lean on while reaffirming their total support for Governor Udom Emmanuel as he has made Akwa Ibom safe for learning.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker also hosted traders under the umbrella of Eket Senatorial District Traders Forum. In her remarks, the president of the Forum, Mrs Grace Ime Oduok stated that traders have always been playing a vital role in politics, assuring of their support.
“It is another election period and as citizens, we have come to declare our total support for Governor Udom Emmanuel and Rt. Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh because they have earned it through their various financial support and empowerments to Eket Senatorial District Traders Forum and Akwa Ibom traders at large”.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of an award of Excellence to the lawmaker.
