In a bid to boost and ensure victory for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s electioneering and all the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in Eket Senatorial District in the forthcoming elections in the state, the MD/CEO, IDEMGH-LINK GROUP OF COMPANIES, Mr. Iniobong Idem has volunteered to sponsor campaigns for Governor Udom Emmanuel and all PDP candidates in Eket Senatorial District vying for various positions in the anticipated general elections.
Iniobong Idem who went further to unveil a new socio-political group – “OXYGEN 2019” over the weekend in Eket to garner supports for Governor Udom Emmanuel, Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi, Rt. Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh, Hon. Patrick Ifon, Otuekong Nse Essien and Hon. David Lawrence, maintained that even as an entrepreneur whose gesture does not have any political undertone, he has chosen to support PDP with his body and mind, because Governor Udom has restored peace in the state during his administration, that is why he decided to voluntarily sponsor PDP campaigns in Eket Senatorial District so that Udom Emmanuel can be re-elected and the existing peace in the state be sustained.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the event, Mr. Idem stressed that although he is not a career politician, he has chosen PDP because the party has direction, compared to other political parties.
He added that Udom Emmanuel has proved that he has the capacity to industrialize Akwa Ibom State, which he has done so.
Idem, who is the progenitor of “OXYGEN 2019” pointed out that his socio-political group (“OXYGEN 2019”) is not a group that will be demanding from the candidates vying for elections, but the group is out to provide supports to the candidates.
“Nobody in OXYGEN 2019 campaign group should ask for money from any of the candidates. Any time there is a campaign, I have made provisions for fuelling of cars and other items to be used”, Idem volunteered.
He therefore provided one thousand customized T-shirts and fez caps each, for Governor Udom Emmanuel and other PDP candidates vying for the Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly respectively, in Eket Senatorial District.
In their separate remarks, each of the candidates took turns to appreciate Mr. Iniobong Idem for his benevolence in volunteering to provide such a massive support for the electioneering in Eket Senatorial District, even without having to wait for the candidates to approach him for such support. They promised never to disappoint OXYGEN 2019 group and indeed the good people of Eket Senatorial District and Akwa Ibom State at large.
The Chapter Chairman of the PDP in Eket, Mr. Emmanuel Mbong thanked Iniobong Idem for choosing to support PDP campaigns in Eket Senatorial District; he assured that all the PDP candidates in the Senatorial District shall have a landslide victory at the polls.
On his part, the Chairman Eket Local Government Council, Mr. Frank Archibong commended the progenitor of “OXYGEN 2019” for such act of kindness. He noted that PDP is a moving train on movement towards the actualization of Udom Emmanuel’s re-election in 2019.
The Eket Council boss emphasized that to reciprocate the gesture, the people will work hard to deliver every Units and Wards in Eket Senatorial District for Governor Udom Emmanuel in the forthcoming elections, hoping that the gesture will add value to Governor Udom Emmanuel’s electioneering in the anticipated elections.
