EMMANUEL FULFILS PROMISE TO IKOT ABASI RESIDENTS - PUNCH NEWSPAPER

GOV. UDOM EMMANUEL

Udom Emmanuel, has fulfilled his promise to residents of Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of financial support for infrastructural development across the five clans of the region.

The governor made the promise in support of the corporate social responsibility activities carried out by the state-owned Ibom Power Company Limited located in Ikot Abasi.

The Chairman of Ibom Power Board of Directors, Mr Etido Inyang, who presented cheques to representatives of the community, reiterated the commitment of the current administration under Emmanuel to improve infrastructure and basic amenities in the area.

He said, “Ikot Abasi is an industrial hub for the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

“It is not a coincidence that the power plant is at Ikot Abasi, the reason being that without power, there is no industrialisation.”

Inyang further said that the N5m donated by the governor for development projects in each of the six communities, was a demonstration of his commitment to develop the area.

Paramount ruler of Ikot Abasi, Edidem Udo NtukObom, thanked Emmanuel for the gesture.

He said the N5m would be used to complete the Unity Hall in Okon community.

Heads of all the clans also expressed gratitude to the governor for keeping his promise and ensuring that the area witnessed development.
