GOVERNOR EMMANUEL PLEDGES MORE INDUSTRIES, WEALTH IN SECOND TERM

Governor Udom Emmanuel says he needs continuity in office to ensure large scale job creation, human development, industries, investment and completion of ongoing projects.

Governor Emmanuel stated this at Obot Akara Local Government Area during a campaign rally.

The Governor acknowledged the act of appreciation exhibited by the people over the construction of Ikpe Mbak Eyop, Ikot Abia, Nto Edino Mbiaso roads and announced the award of Nto Ndang, Nto Edino -Ikot Amba bridge with a spur to Senyang Construction Firm.


He thanked the Local Government for the donation of five thousand hectares of land to government for Agro Allied Foreign Direct Investment and assured them that the business will employ a great number of youths when it becomes operational.

Mr Emmanuel who promised to do more for the state called for maximum support from the people to all PDP candidates during the elections and resist attempts to cause crisis.

The Director- General of the Divine Mandate Campaign Organization, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga charged the people to see the election as a referendum to make a good choice by identifying with the PDP.

The DG referred to Governor Emmanuel as a symbol of peace; an attitude that had attracted thirteen industries for youth employment, noting that with the foundation being laid by the State's Chief Executive, there will be no second class citizen for Akwa Ibom people in the near future.

In the same vein, the state Chairman of the PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo expressed delight at the turnout of party faithful to the rally and encouraged them to remain with the party that was not making excuses but fulfilling promises made to the electorate.

Obong Ekpo advised them to vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as President, Governor Emmanuel for second term, Obong Chris Ekpenyong for Senate, and Nsikak Ekong and Idongesit Ntekpere for House of Representatives and House of Assembly respectively.

The Chairman who identified units, wards and chapters as PDP's might, later presented party flags to candidates contesting the upcoming elections on the PDP platform.

The people of Obot Akara Local Government Area had earlier expressed the resolve to vote enmasse for Governor Emmanuel and other candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The PDP senatorial candidate, Obong Chris Ekpenyong, Commissioner for Youths and Sport, Sir Monday Ebong Uko, Local Government Chairman, Etubom Anietie Udo Udo Akpaetor, State Chairman of SUBEB Professor Maria Ikrok and others reiterated the resolve of their people to stand with a Governor who means well for them.



The elated people who expressed appreciation to the Governor for the construction of roads in the Local Government Area, said they remain in one accord to return Mr Emmanuel to Hiltop Mansion till 2023 alongside other PDP candidates.

Stakeholders in Obot Akara however advised those contemplating the use of Federal might to manipulate the 2019 elections to stay off the area as they are determined to ensure that their votes count.

They appreciated the Governor for the provision of empowerment schemes, industries, roads and other public utilities and prayed God to bless him, his wife, Martha, family, PDP Presidential candidate and other party candidates for the forth coming elections.

Earlier,  Governor Emmanuel, his wife, Martha and members of the entourage visited the paramount ruler of Obot Akara, Okuku Uwah Umoh Adiaka 111 to intimate him of his second term ambition.

The traditional father expressed satisfaction with the performance of Governor Emmanuel especially the construction of the bridge in his domain and showered his guest with royal blessings.
