URUAN WILL SOON COMMENCE OIL PRODUCTION --GOVERNOR EMMANUEL

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has announced that plans have been concluded for Uruan to join other local government areas of the state in crude oil production.


The Governor stated this on Tuesday at the Uruan Stadium during campaign rally for his second term.

Addressing the crowd, Governor Emmanuel disclosed that Uruan will soon start using their oil wells to produce oil for Nigeria, adding that signing of agreement is ongoing.

He reiterated his commitment to complete and commission all ongoing projects in Uruan, saying that the first ever green house project is located in Uruan."

The State Governor described as unfortunate the fact that it is only in Nigeria that people consume evaporated milk, saying that the Cattle Ranch in Adadia, Uruan will solve that problem.

In his remarks, the former Governor of the State and DG of Divine Mandate Campaign organisation, Air Commodore, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, stated that Governor Emmanuel has considered all the requirements and stands worthy of second term, adding that the peace currently enjoyed in the state has brought about development and prosperity among indigenes of the State.

Also speaking, State Chairman of PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo, noted that peace was restored in Akwa Ibom State since Governor Emmanuel's assumption of office in 2015.

He noted that no other governor has ever done for the people of Uruan like Udom Emmanuel.

Also speaking, the presiding member, Uruan Traditional Rulers Council, HRH Cosmas Nkanga, said that Uruan people want Udom Emmanuel back to Hilltop Mansion.

He said: "No royal father has been murdered, no kidnapping, no violence under Governor Emmanuel's watch," and described as an insult to Ibibio people for any man to wake up and try to scuttle the tide of development.

Chapter Chairman of PDP in Uruan,  Hon Obot Okon Essien, in his goodwill message, pledged the resolve of the people to deliver the Governor in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, for all the developmental projects in Uruan including the Akwa Prime Hatchery, Cattle Ranch, reconstructed Ituk Mbang General Hospital and many others.

Others who spoke at the campaign rally were Rt Hon Obong Peter Ekpe Atakpo, Mrs Josephine Okokon Bassey, and former Chairman, Uruan LGA, Hon Anthony Akan, and affirmed the commitment of Uruan people to massively vote for PDP.

They maintained that people have never witnessed such development in the history of Uruan, saying that their block votes for Governor Udom Emmanuel is not negotiable.

Defectors from the APC recounted their ordeals, saying "We had carried the brooms for quite long but nothing to show for it. We were like slaves in APC. There is no more opposition in Uruan. We have all return to PDP. Federal might will not match with the unit might that we have here."

The campaign train of the Governor moved to Ibesikpo.
