MBO TO GET AVIATION KEROSENE TANK FARM - Gov Emmanuel

Governor Udom Emmanuel has announced initiatives by his administration at intensifying consultations with petroleum downstream investors to establish aviation kerosene tank farm in Mbo Local Government Area.


Emmanuel, who was received with jubilation by the people of the area, made the announcement when he led the Divine Mandate Campaign team, on his second term election campaign rally to the Local Government, at Methodist Primary School, Enwang, in Mbo.


The Governor explained that the coming on board of the aviation kerosene tank farm would boost economic value of related businesses in the area, adding, "that alone will spring up more facilities and development in Mbo because people will be loading from Mbo".


He stated that his administration is constructing a coastal road that would traverse the proposed industrial city and the deep sea port, noting, "We have our bidders on ground, once the federal government gives us the license, every other thing would be on auto pilot".

Governor Emmanuel explained that the Etebi - -Enwang road was poorly designed, remarking that the defect in the model  has been corrected  and stated that modalities  are in place to re-award it to a construction firm that would execute and complete the project before end  of 2018.


He  mentioned that the  state government has kept to the promise of  ensuring the safety of marine business operators in the area, pointing out that it was the desire of his administration for the people to peacefully engage in their economic activities.


While reteirating that his government has fulfilled promises and social contract of laying the foundations for development and embarking on a journey of building on the set agenda, he urged the people to partner his administration in order to reap the full benefits in his second term.

The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo, said that the Party was delighted that the present state government has landmark projects to showcase at every Local Government that the campaign train goes, soliciting for support for all candidates of the PDP during the coming elections.

Obong Ekpo, thereafter presented the Party flags to the Senatorial District Candidate, Dr. Akon Eyakenyi,the Federal Constituency Candidate, Rt. Hon. Nse Ekpenyong and the State Assembly hopeful, Hon. Asuquo Frank.


In his remarks, the South South Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Bishop Etim Ante, said he was impressed at the choice of the Divine Mandate Campaign slogan -Only God, asserting that Emmanuel's faith will be rewarded with God subduing the much touted 'federal might' of the opposition, at the polls.

Bishop Ante maintained that the people of Mbo would cast their votes to secure the winning of the PDP as they are known for,  pledging the support of the people to return the Governor to the Hilltop Mansion in the next political dispensation.

Earlier, the Director General, DG, of the Divine Mandate  Organization, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, stared that the Emmanuel-led government has embraced the people of Mbo, suing for support to consolidate on the recorded achievements for the betterment of the future of Akwa Ibom.

Nkanga pointed out that the returning of the PDP to power  at the center, would fast-track the commencement of the Ibom deep sea port, imploring the people to vote the Presidential Candidate of the Party, to ensure restructuring of the country for the benefit of the South South States.

Speaking on behalf of the  Elders in a goodwill messge, a former Commissioner, Prince Chris Abasieyo commended Governor Emmanuel's administration for taking initiatives and accepting responsibilities to raise the standard of living of Mbo people, saying that the mammoth crowd at the rally was the affirmation of the people's valid decision to re-elect him for a second term.

Prince Abasieyo indicated that  the people of Mbo, love the aspirations of the Emmanuel administration to rescue them from stagnation and fear, stressing that God's amazing grace would preserve the victory of the PDP in Mbo.

Others who also presented goodwill  messages were, Rt. Hon. Arit  Ekpenyong, who spoke on behalf of the women and Hon. Duncan Uwe, the youth representative, who thanked the Governor for being a promise keeper and for giving Mbo indigenes more appointees than they requested, promising to reciprocate the gesture by giving him bloc votes.

In their  separate  messages, Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, an indigene of the area, the Deputy DG of the Divine Mandate Organization and the PDP Candidates from the Local Government and Senatorial District,  all applauded Emmanuel's development strides in Mbo, assuring that his second term ambition is a done deal.


The event also featured a parade of beauty queens from the area, displaying hand-held boards showcasing the achievements of the Governor within three and a half years.

Governor Emmanuel had earlier received royal blessings from the Paramount Ruler of Mbo Local Government Area, His Royal  Majesty,  Ahta Edet Okon Isemin, when he visited to pay homage to the Mbo Traditional Rulers Council. The visit ended with exchange of gift items between the two parties.
