Councillor representing Ward 2 Central in Eket Legislative Council, Hon. Akaniyene Tommey has been described by his constituents as a super performing legislator based on his superlative performance in representation and human capacity development.
Since assumption of office as Councillor, Hon. Tommey has embarked on many life touching projects and programmes to impact positively on the lives of his people.
Hon. Tommey who is the Deputy Majority Leader in Eket Legislative Council within his few months in office renovated a six classroom block at Government Primary School, Idung Iniang in Ward 2 Central with other numerous life touching projects spread across the entire Ward.
Recently, he has sponsored the training of eight (8) youths selected across the Ward for quality tailoring skills from a reputable tailoring outfit in Eket, Walius Designers for one year which the trainees will acquired skills preparing them for the world of works.
Hon. Tommey said he decided to train some youths from his constituents in line with the Dakkada philosophy of the present administration by building the capacity of our youth to be self reliant so as to cater for themselves and their families.
It will not be out of place to say that Hon. Tommey is complementing the effort of the Chairman of Eket local government area, Hon. Frank Archibong in his policy trust to build the capacity of our youth to be responsible members of the society.
Speaking at the training center, the trainees jointly commended Hon. Tommey for his commitment in human capital development, describing him as God sent to the people of Ward 2 Central. They also promised to take their training serious for their own benefits and the larger society.
Speaking also, the Managing Director of Walius Designers, Mr. Willie Umem poured encomium on Hon. Tommey for his wisdom and magnanimity to empower his constituents through skill acquisition, promising to deliver quality training to the
trainees.
