By Edet Edet.

The Treasurer of the Peoples Democratic Party, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Barr. Akpadiaha Ebitu has lampooned President Muhammadu Buhari over the ministerial nominees sent to the senate yesterday for screening and confirmation.

In his reaction, he stated that the list does not reflect the expectation of Nigerians, who were told that the Next Level agenda will feature technocrats and professionals,  free of corruption, who will bring their wealth of experiences to change the country’s dwindling narrative.

Ebitu made this known in a media parley with journalist in his residential home in Eket, Tuesday.

He emphasized that the list sent by President Buhari to the senate is filled with those who were indicted by a properly constituted commission of enquiry, and as such, the Federal Executive Council will be filled with corrupt personalities.

“How can you be an Apostle of anti-corruption, and you pick people who are under investigation for one case or the other, persons who were indicted by a properly constituted commission of enquiry, why will you pick such persons?”

Ebitu stated further that the list is that of political compensation for one reason or the other, and not those that will contribute immensely to the growth of the nation.

“As far as I am concern it is the recycling of same old politicians. I can say without any fear of persons that the list of ministers were not picked by merit; it is probably a list of those compensated for one political reason or the other” – he added.

On Senator Akpabio’s nomination as minister, the erudite legal luminary stated that the former senate minority leader is qualified to be minister of the federal republic.

He said that  for Akpabio to have lobbied to be Minister by every indication meant that he knew he doesn't have any stand in the ongoing National Assembly election tribunal going by the testimonies of witnesses.

Ebitu who was recently appointed the Secretary of Ibom Air, commended the state Governor for the appointment and his industrialization drive that has given birth to Ibom Air, a state owned airline.

The pioneer Secretary of Ibom Air affirmed that Governor Emmanuel's investment in the aviation sector will not just boost the economy of the state, but will provide employment opportunities for A'Ibomites.

Ebitu stated further that the reason the third aircraft has not commenced operation is because of lack of pilot with the bombadier certification.

He reiterated the Governor's resolve in training A'Ibom pilots to acquire the requisite bombardier certification so they can too the list of the qualified.

Ebitu announced that Ibom Air will soon commence Port Harcourt - Lagos/ Port Harcourt- Abuja route flight, and will probably commence international flights soon when the remaining aircrafts arrives.

"Currently Akwa Ibom is on the world map because of Ibom Air"

"Ibom Air has currently employed over 195  people and will employ more when we commence Port Harcourt- Lagos/ Port Harcourt - Abuja route flight" he added.
