AKWA IBOM GOVT ANNOUNCES CLOSURE OF IBB AVENUE FROM JAN 31




Akwa Ibom State government has announced that begining from Friday, 31st January, 2020, it will undertake the repairs of the failed portion of IBB Avenue in Uyo, to enhance the smooth movement of vehicles.


A statement from the Ministry of Works, signed by the Commissioner, Mr. Ephraim Akparawa Inyang-Eyen, said, the IBB Avenue, by the Ministry of Women Affairs, close to R&R Events Centre, will from Friday be closed to vehicular traffic while the maintenance work is in progress.

While appealing motorists and other users of the road to use other alternative routes during the maintenance work, the Commissioner said the re-construction will be done day and night and would be completed soon.

Inyang-Eyen further hinted that Governor Udom Emmanuel has taken adequate steps to create proper road infrastructure that will ultimately improve the traffic situation, not only in Uyo metropolis, but all the sections of the State.
