Work has reached appreciable stage on the failed portion of IBB Avenue in Uyo.
The contractors handling the maintenance work; Amitec Construction Company, Monday, told inspection team headed by the State Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim Akparawa Inyang-Eyen, that their decision to work day and night was to deliver the job as swiftly as possible.
The Works boss, who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Akwa Ibom State, Engr John Itiat and some Directors in the Ministry, urged the contractors to ensure delivery of quality and durable job.
When completed, Inyang-Eyen assured the remedial measure on the road will enhance smooth movement of vehicles and alleviate the untold hardship being experienced by motorists pending the permanent solution to the perennial flood problem in the area
