COVID-19: PAT IFON GIVES TO THE NEEDY.









...as Frank Archibong, Iniobong Robson calls for stakeholders support and strict adherence.



In his effort to alleviate hunger amidst the ongoing lockdown occasioned by the ravaging coronavirus pandemic, the member representing Eket Federal Constiuency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Patrick Ifon,  has given out food items and Sanitizers to the needy in his Federal Constiuency.


Presenting the items, Rt. Hon. Pat Ifon said his contribution is to compliment the effort of Governor Udom Emmanuel and what other well meaning Stakeholders have done to curb the spread of Covid-19 virus in the State.

Hon. Pat Ifon, who was represented by his dear wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Ifon, advised the people to strictly adhere to Medical precautionary measures and Government regulations in order to help put the spread of Coronavirus under control. She was accompanied by a former Vice Chairman of Eket LGA, Mr. Ekanem Willie.

"We can't do it alone, no individual can do it alone. Therefore, on behalf of my dear Husband, Rt. Hon. Pat Ifon, we brought this Palliatives and sanitizers as part of our contribution to compliment the efforts of His Excellency Deacon Udom Emmanuel and other Stakeholders to alleviate hunger and to assist the needy at this period of hardship occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic and  Lockdown order" Dr. Mrs. Elsie Ifon Stated.

First point of call was Esit Eket Local Government Area, where the Council Chairman, Hon. Iniobong Robson, was ably represented by the Vice Chairman of Council, Mr. Samuel Itama who was joined by the re-elected PDP Chapter Chairman, Elder Eddy Etangkanga.

Recieving the palliatives on behalf of the Chairman for the people of Esit Eket, the duo described Hon. Ifon as an Iconic leader. They lauded the Federal Legislator for keping to his campaign promise.

"This virus was not expected by anyone. This is the time to show love mostly to the needy and this gesture symbolizes that we didn't make any mistake by giving Pat Ifon our mandate to represent us". Eddy Etangkanga stated.

While in Eket, the team was recieved by the Council Chairman, Hon. Frank Archibong alongside, the PDP Chapter Chairman for Eket LGA, Obongiwaad Emma Mbong. Mr. Archibong, thanked the Federal Lawmaker for maintaining the pace for efficient and effective representation.

"It is one thing to have and it is another thing to give. It is another thing to be voted for and it is another thing to remember the people that voted for you; obviously, this is an indication that Pat Ifon is Committed and has the welfare of his people at heart" Archibong Submitted.

Hon. Archibong stressed that the world is in a terrible trying time where all knees must be down to seek God's divine intervention. He appealed to gentlemen of the Press to be factual and Professional in their reportage.

He further informed that over 35 persons have been convicted by the Mobil Court for defaulting the Lockdown order. He assured that the donated items will get to vulnerable while appealing to people to collaborate with government.

"This is not the time for blackmail. We must observe social distancing wherever we may be. It's the time where all hands must be on deck and proactive for the safety of our people and environment. If we must succeed, we must not allow sentiment or party affiliation to override professionalism". Frank Added.

In Ibeno LGC, the VC of Council, Rt. Sunday Isokobo, alongside other members of Ibeno Covid-19 Committee, said the of people of the area are acquainted with Pat Ifon's heart of gold. Mr. Isokobo described the Federal lawmaker as a selfless giver and a listening leader.

From Ibeno, the distribution team proceeded to ONNA where the Chairman of Council Hon. Imo Attat and the PDP Chapter Chairman elect, Barr. Adiakpan, were on ground to receive the palliatives for the vulnerables in the area.

Hon. Attat, lauded the National Lawmaker for standing up tall to defend the mandate he was given. They commended the State Chief Executive for initiating the idea of reaching out to the people through pallatives support and wider enlightenment which they said has aided in the fight against COVID19 spread in the State.

The items distributed across the Four LGAs of Eket, Esit Eket, ONNA and Ibeno included bags of rice, Indomie Noddles, sanitizers among others.
