WILLIAMS MKPAH REITERATES COMMITMENT TO JOB CREATION, YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

The Executive Chairmnan of Ibeno LGC. High Chief Williams Mkpah, has reiterated his commitment to ensuring Ibeno youths are skillfully developed, and engaged in accordance to their areas of specialization.


The chairman, in his wisdom to tackle unemployment, directed the labour Committee Chairman, Mr. Michael Abakam, to establish comprehensive database of certified professional youths in the LGA for easy identification and engagement during any available job opportunity.

"If our youths are professionally trained to acquire certifications, and are gainfully engaged base on their area of specializations, it will be possible to have an orderly and peaceful society where the phase of development in Ibeno will become a cynosure". Mkpah Stated.


The Ibeno council boss, stated this on Friday, 4th February,2021, when he  addressed  youths across all the villages in  Ibeno who converged at the Ulok Ulok Council Hall, for an extensive  interactive meeting. 



Mkpah, charged the youth leadership to rise above ethnic sentiment and selfish purpose for development to strive in Ibeno LGA. "If we must achieve as planned; unity, peaceful co-existence and collaboration must top in our agenda" He added.  


To match word with action, the Chairman, directed that all roadblocks be dismantled, noting that such act is capable of causing internal crises and disruption of progress or prevents accomplishment of an objective.


Speaking on behalf of the youth, Comrade Anietie Mkpa, and the president of National Association of Ibeno Students, Comrade Samuel Charles, appreciated the leadership style and inclination of the chairman to transparently develop Ibeno. They  submitted that organizing of press conference in the LGA will serve as a salvaging channel through which issues  affecting development and well-being of the people in the area would be given  optimal global attention it deserves. 


In his submission, an elderstatesman, Mr. Samuel Ekpeyong, cautioned against violence. He pointed that violence of any kind will birth  setback factor without any benefit. He encouraged them to be confident in government while assuring that Ibeno will attain her position as one of the best LGA in human capital development and job creation. 


Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on planning,  Apostle Samuel Ekah, harped on educational advancement of the youth and synergy  between the people and the Council Chairmnan, so as to enable the platform for significant youth engagement and good governance.



The meeting had in attendance; Vice Chairman of council, Mrs. Ethel Ifum,  Secretary of Council, Mr Johnson Ukalum,  former Chairman of  Council, Bishop Okon Ukpe Afaiko, Elders, past  Council chairmen, Ibeno Youth President's Forum and the security Agencies.
