Qualified entrepreneurs in Akwa Ibom State, today made business pitches to judges and angel investors for an opportunity to win business grants at the 2nd Season of the My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme (MEGP) MSME pitch deck.
The event, which held at the conference room of the Directorate Of Marketing and Brand Management, Office of the Governor, saw the entrepreneurs, who applied from the pool of Alumni of the Akwa Ibom State Youths Entrepreneurial Development Programme battle to outdo each other in pitching their businesses in order to clinch the Governor's prizes.
Setting the tone for the pitch, the Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Entrepreneurial Development, Mrs. Meflyn Anwana welcomed the participants and Judges to the event, and reechoed the commitment of the Udom Emmanuel Administration to supporting enterprise development. Anwana said the contestants were expected to effectively communicate their ideas behind their business brands and convince the panel of judges that they deserve the prize money.
The four man panel of judges was made up of veteran Akwa Ibom entrepreneurs namely: Mr. Iniobong Umoh, Mrs. Menyene Ekponta, Aniefiok Macauley and Mr. Ufford Ebong. 
A total of 18 contenders pitched their business ideas to the judges in the Early startup and existing business categories.
Winners of the 2nd season MEGP MSME Pitch Deck will be announced at the Certification/Induction dinner organized for the participants of the batch-4 of the Akwa Ibom State Youths Entrepreneurial Development Programme, holding tomorrow at the Emerald Events Center, Uyo. The winners will go home with the Governors prizes in the various categories ranging from N500,000 to N150,000.
