The Director of Divine Seeds High School, Pastor (Mrs) Tobby Inyang, has advised parents and guardians to be resolute in teaching their children to acquire excellent education and standard moral development, while reiterating    Management's commitment to ensuring excellent academic standard and good moral values.Pastor Mrs. Inyang, who said that children are often at odds with what they learn at home about values, noted that Child moral development is very important to leave to chance considering what a child learns at home about value system.

She gave the advice while addressing graduands, students and parents during the 2020/2021 Academic session celebration and 12 years existence of Divine Seeds High School, held at the School auditorium today, Saturday, 24th July, 2021, in Eket local government.

She emphasized that Divine Seeds School is not just an ordinary school to practice  academic content or concentrating on academic excellence as it is done in other schools.

"Here, we train  children to become great personalities in the society. We equally have spiritual contents embedded in our curriculum to help keep them excelling in all endeavours they find themselves".

She admonished that children should be  trained in the fear of the Lord. "The book of Mathew, Chapter 6 vs 33, tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Therefore, even if you don't have any other thing; seek first the kingdom of God and every other thing will be added to you".

She further stated that to make children responsible society members, they should be taught to imbibe moral values such as honesty, loyalty, respect, self-reliance, self-discipline, patience, kindness, gratitude, forgiveness, personal responsibility and courtesy".

On special package for students of Divine Seeds High School, the Director explained that they also operate as a ministry by touching lives and reaching out to the less privilege and widows to assuage them of hardship. She revealed that any child whom by whatever circumstances losses his or her parents is usually granted full scholarship to continue and finish.

Responding to question on the process of teachers recruitment,  Mrs. Inyang, said there is no compromise in the process. "We are very very strict and resolute on the selection process. If you do not meet our standard, you cannot be considered for employment because we value excellence".

She disagreed to the assertion that Nigerian system of education has fallen. "I do not subscribe to that view. Input  determines the output. It all depends on what is offered by individual schools; They are some students who are reading their books, performing marvelously well and excelling in their academic on the ground of merit. So, parents should not relent in training their children to becoming the best they can possibly become". Meanwhile, Chairman of the School, Pastor Tobby Inyang, observed that some of those who are resident in Eket Senatorial district often prefers their children to be admitted into schools with beautiful structures and ambience environment without giving premium to standard and academic excellence.

"What we have here for our students is content. Some of our students who have graduated are today pursuing their  professional careers in different parts of the country including Europe, Asia, US and  United Kingdom".In his closing remarks, Chairman, Parents Teachers Association, Elder Emmanuel Eshiet, counseled parents to be diligent and responsible.

Elder Eshiet, said "Regardless of what you consciously teach them, your children will emerge from childhood with clear views on what their parents really value, and with a well developed value system of their own"
