AKWA IBOM YOUTHS NEED MORE - Richard Peters

Pst. Umo Eno

"I will never stop questioning. I will never stop wanting more and discovering other things and wanting to do other things. That will always be a part of me, and it's something I've come to terms with" (David Hallberg).

The quotation above reflects the personality of Pst. Umo Eno, the Governorship front-runner of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) who has already received statewide endorsement from stakeholders of the party, religious and traditional leaders.

In a recent consultation with chairmen of the 31 Local Government Areas of the state, he categorically stated that Akwa Ibom youths need more jobs, more empowerment and more opportunities.

As a successful entrepreneur, he has done more for the state through his group of companies and can never be satisfied with his achievements since there is still room for more. He is not like Alexander the Great who cried "There's no more worlds to conquer", when there were many other worlds not yet discovered.

Man is an insatiable being. That is why some people are not satisfied with their level of education, and strive for more, even to PhD. Others continue to expand their businesses even beyond national frontier. Founders of churches keep establishing more branches, even as God the creator of mankind seeks to expand the kingdom of His son on earth, stating that the gospel shall be preached unto the uttermost part of the world.

Pst. Umo Eno seeing His Excellency the governor taking the youths from the streets and providing a brighter future through various youths intervention programmes as well as the Dakkada initiative, has aligned his determination to do more for the youths.

In the present administration, more youths  have been trained in various skills, empowered financially to start up their businesses, and given several training on farming, among others.

The MEGP empowerment programmes for the youths organised by the Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management is one youth empowerment programme that has impacted positively on Akwa Ibom youths.

What about the youth project from the Ministry of Trade and Investment? Or the training and empowerment by the Ministry of Agriculture? The list is endless.

Despite the aforementioned, Akwa Ibom youths still need these programmes. Is Pst. Umo Eno determined to do more? The answer is a capital Yes.

He has employed many youths in his private establishments, his boss the Governor is doing same, hence his determination to do more, because the youths need more.
