100 DAYS IN OFFICE: ERIC AKPAN EXCELS IN REPRESENTING HIS CONSTITUENTS

In a resonating display of gratitude and dedication, Honorable Eric Akpan, the  representative of Nsit Ibom State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, celebrated his remarkable 100 days in office by gathering his constituents at the residence of his Political Leader, Gen. Paul Isang (rtd.) at one hundred Unit, uyo.. 


During this gathering, Hon. Akpan did not only expressed his heartfelt thanks but also showcased his legislative achievements, marking a new era of superlative representation.


This grand event drew a substantial crowd, including critical stakeholders from the 10 Wards within Nsit Ibom State Constituency, encompassing individuals of all ages and backgrounds.


In his eloquent address, Hon. Akpan extended his deep appreciation to his constituents for their trust and support within this past one hundred days.


He recognized the faith and confidence they had placed in him since his tenure as Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area and now as the representative of Nsit Ibom State Constituency, at the State Parliament. .


"Today, I stand before you, the honorable people of Nsit Ibom, and our esteemed stakeholders, to commemorate my first one hundred days in office as the Member representing Nsit Ibom State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. This esteemed position was entrusted to me through your votes, and I am profoundly grateful for the faith and confidence you've vested in me", he appreciated. 


Hon. Akpan reaffirmed his resolution to providing effective representation in the areas of lawmaking, oversight, and advocacy, all aimed at delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituents.


"During my election campaign, I solemnly pledged to be an unrepentant advocate for the people of Nsit Ibom, tirelessly working to bring the tangible benefits of democracy to our beloved communities.


 "As I reflect on these past hundred days, I am proud to declare that I have remained steadfast in keeping my promises. I have served as a resounding voice for Nsit Ibom, diligently fulfilling my duties of representation and oversight," Hon. Akpan extolled. 


During the gathering, the Nsit Ibom lawmaker presented a comprehensive scorecard of his activities, which included the introduction of crucial motions in the House, engaging in meaningful legislative debates, and plans to draft more bills that would directly benefit his constituents.


"In this short yet eventful period, I've introduced three critical motions in the House, addressing vital development and safety concerns affecting my constituents and all residents of Akwa Ibom State. Additionally, I'm currently in the process of drafting a significant Bill, which will soon be brought before the House for consideration."


Furthermore, he highlighted his active collaboration on essential bills and his contribution to important discussions on the House floor. 


The Nsit Ibom Lawmaker also emphasized his support for small and medium-scale businesses within his constituency by disbursing starter funds to alleviate economic challenges.


He commended Governor Umo Eno for his outstanding work during the first hundred days in office, which was marked by tangible projects that directly impacted the people. 


Hon. Akpan particularly praised the Governor's initiative to employ 114 youths from the 114 units of the Constituency, a commendable effort aimed at reducing unemployment among our teeming youths.


 The State parliamentarian during this epochal gathering, made a generous cash donation to the 10 Wards, presented business start up grant to femle constituent and called upon his constituents to remain united, focused, and supportive of the government of Akwa Ibom State. 


He pledged his commitment to effective representation and looked forward to their continued cooperation to help him fulfill his assigned mandate.


"Looking ahead, I remain steadfastly committed to providing exemplary representation throughout my tenure and fostering harmonious relations between the 8th Assembly and other branches of government, all for the greater good of our cherished state.


"Together, we shall propel Nsit Ibom toward the bright future we all envision. I humbly seek your unwavering support and prayers, understanding that together, we can achieve remarkable accomplishments," he pledged


In their separate remarks, the political adviser to the Governor on Poltical Affairs, Hon. Amanam Nkanga, and the political Leader, General Paul Isang (retired), commended the Nsit Ibom Lawmaker for showcasing Nsit Ibom through outstanding legislative practice and for expressing gratitude to the people. 


They lauded him for promoting unity and objectivity in his line of duty, pledging their support.


Others who gave their goodwill messages during the gathering were; the managing Director of Gim Global Nigeria, Mr. Innocent Akpan, Nsit Ibom Chapter Chairman of PDP,  Hon. Nsikak Ikpe, the Vice Chairman of Nsit Ibom, Hon. Mbosowo Charles and many others.


The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including the Political Leader of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, General Paul Isang (retired), Chairman of SUBEB, Rt. Hon Anietie Etuk,

Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Amos Etuk.


 member State Technical Schools Board, Hon. Inemesit Ubokudom, Mrs. Funmi Idongesit Nkanga, Obonganwan Aniedi Inyang, the Chairman and Vice Chairman of Nsit Ibom LGA, PDP Chapter Chairman, Mr. Nsikak Ikpe, Political Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Amanam Nkanga, etc.
