HON. PRINCE ANIEFIOK ATTAH'S 100 Days of Impactful Legislative and Representative Journey

Hon. Prince Attah, Member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency

The Honourable Member Representing Nsit Atai State Constituency has just eclipsed 100 days in office as the People's representative.


Within these 100 days, the member has scored a first on many fronts cutting across his legislative agenda and human capacity and community development initiatives. 

 Legislative Agenda:

In carrying out his legislative oversight functions as chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, he led his team of committee members in the successful screening of commissioners designate as was sent to the House by Mr. Governor. A process that received accolades in the way and manner it was handled, one of such coming from the cerebral Comr. Ini Ememobong (Hon. Commissioner for Information and Strategy).


As a member of several House committees including Special Duties, Project Monitoring and Implementation Committee, Works and Transport Committee amongst others, Hon. Attah has actively been engaged in oversight functions which include interfacing with relevant government agencies, contractors, and communities with respect to ensuring completion of ongoing projects, removing bottlenecks and hindrances towards implementation of projects. Some of the projects include the Akpandem Market, Ibom Seaport, Dakadda Estate, and roads in the state.

Also being an active member of the House Committee on Security, Youth, and Sports, Prince-Aniefiok Attah has been part of the committee oversight functions and stakeholder engagement where he proffered solutions to the lingering restiveness among students of Public Secondary Schools and other committee contributions.


Hon Attah since his inauguration into the 8th Assembly has been an active participant in all legislative activities of the house, particularly,  during deliberation at the hallow chambers of the house and at the committee level. 


On bills and motions, Prince-Aniefiok Attah being the meticulous person that he is, is painstakingly identifying areas of critical human and infrastructural needs in which he is conversing with constituents and relevant stakeholders so as to bring bills and motions of dire relevance to the people. About 5 bills and 15 motions are already in the works. This notwithstanding, Hon. Attah has co-sponsored many legislative bills. 

 *Human Capacity and Community Development Initiatives:* 

As a people-centric representative, the Nsit Atai State Constituency Representative has been at the forefront of community and human engagement. Within his first 100 days in office, he has facilitated the unconditional release of inmates at the Nsit Atai Divisional Police Headquarters for cases involving debts after paying all debts in full. He has taken part in the monthly sanitation exercise in his community keeping faith with the state government environmental sanitation initiative, he used the opportunity to fete with his kith and kin dolling out financial support to the tune of 1.2 million naira to participants of the exercises across various villages in the area. Away from that, the House Member has attended well over 50 events of his constituents from burial ceremonies to child dedications, marriages, etc.


In the last People's Democratic Party ward meetings, Hon. Attah, being a loyal and committed party man and in recognition of the critical roles his political party, PDP played in his emergences doled out a cash sum of One (1) Million Naira and shared One (1) Hundred Thousand Naira each to ten wards of Nsit Atai State Constituency to aid transportation of his party members that participated in the quarterly meeting. 


As a member whose representative crux is about effective and humane people representation, within the last 100 days, Hon. Prince-Aniefiok has placed about fourteen (14) of his constituents on academic scholarships across tertiary institutions in the country from undergraduate to graduate levels of study. The member has also provided 5000 customized exercise books as part of his educational advancement and back-to-school initiative to all school children across the local government area in a bid to ensure the citizens of Nsit Atai have essential education materials and are better placed in society.


In fulfillment of his campaign manifesto and as part of marking his 100 days in office, the house member has concluded plans to empower 400 youths from his constituency with five (5) million naira as business support, start-up grants, etc. The 400 youths are drawn from the ten (10) wards of the area with 40 coming from each ward and women making 15 each out of the 40.
